Meet Our Team – Luis Vazquez

Hello, my name is Luis Vazquez. I was born in Mexico City however, my family and I immigrated to the U.S. when I was only two years old in 1997. I grew up in Denver, Colorado and would eventually leave to pursue a degree in architecture at the University of Arizona.

I was first really introduced to architecture through a high school internship program, in which I built models for a local Denver firm. Despite my limited involvement, I learned a lot and saw the kinds of things that happened on a day to day basis in an architecture firm. I was hooked and I knew this was the field that I would pursue.

During my time spent in Tucson studying I would find myself thinking not only about the people I left behind in Colorado but the state itself. I missed the mountains and experiencing all four seasons in one day. I would often go camping or hiking, and I missed the people that I had left behind. It became clear to me that I would return to live and work in Colorado.

Returning home from college I took some time off to reconnect with friends and family. The job search commenced and I was offered a position at TAB associates and it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up especially once I saw how beautiful the valley is. Outside of work I enjoy cooking, reading, video games, drawing, and jamming out on guitar with friends along with the usual outdoor activities that being in Colorado offers someone.

Now moving forward I’m working on my getting my architecture license and learning as much as I can. My hope is to one day redesign the house that I grew up in which my parents still own as well becoming a capable architect in my own right. I see myself in Colorado for the long run however, I’m always open to whatever the future holds.
